Dundee Junior High School

Sometime in the 80’s my old school was torn down and they built a shopping center on that land.  I fled to this public school sometime during the middle of seventh grade from St. Catherine’s and I got a detention on my first day.  The  kids were shooting rubber bands at “The New Kid”.  Instead of shooting them back and re-arming those morons, I horded the rubber bands in my pocket.  My English  teacher saw me put one in my pocket along with the two dozen other rubber weapons I had captured so I was sent to the principals office for punishment.    Detention in the public school was great.  You could do your homework or read and you didn’t have to write the Hail Mary 1000 times like we had to do in the  detention at the Catholic schools.
My favorite room was the projection room in the auditorium.  I really enjoyed that job as a visial aide technician.  That job got a bad rap in the movie but I liked it.
